30 Years of Chiropractic Experience in Thorold

As an experienced and knowledgeable chiropractor in Thorold, Dr. Bob Szczurko has handled patients of all ages, from a 96-year-old man to a 15-minute-old baby. He has practiced chiropractic care in Thorold for over 30 years. He has been registered in good standing with the CCO (College of Chiropractors of Ontario) since 1985.

He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). During his time there, Dr. Bob served as class president, student representative to the International Chiropractic Students’ Convention and CMCC budget development committee. He continues to still be active in the chiropractic community.

Community Involvement in Chiropractic Care

To name a few of his community involvements, Dr. Bob has served as President of the Niagara Chiropractic Society. He has worked as a CCO Peer Assessor for 12 years, working with a diverse range of chiropractors and their different approaches to practice. He is also a former co-founder of the “Back in Shape” rehab program for motor vehicle accident patients. This rehab centre focused on proprioceptive re-education and gentle resistance exercise regimens. He has sat on the board of directors of the Thorold Chamber of Commerce, Thorold Community Activities Group. He is an active member of Adanac Lodge as well as the Niagara Shriners.


Dr. Bob’s emphasis on the importance of education is a reflection of his past as a high school science teacher, where he co-authored 3 books on biology and physics, coached numerous soccer and swim teams, facilitated canoe trips and backpacking excursions. In his chiropractic career, he has coached doctors on patient education and presented at chiropractic organizations through Canada and the United States. He has delivered wellness educational presentations to local schools (for staff and students), Bell Canada employees, Scotia Bank staff, TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) groups, Brock University staff, Chamber of Commerce members, Thorold Community Activities Program, Super Store Lecture Series, to name a few.


He has continued to educate himself inthe art, science, and philosophy of chiropractic care by studying with mentors of various techniques (Stucky, Cox, Leander, Hoffman, Leahy, and more), academic courses (Field Practitioner’s Clinical Fellowship Program, the LACC Chiropractic Orthopedic’s Diplomate Program), and practice management programs (Parker, Kats, Ward, Whitney, Chiropractic Masters, CEO, Concept Therapy and more).


When Dr. Bob is not working, he likes to spend time with his wife, Lesia and his family of 6 children and 3 grandchildren.
